    Bad changes are bad.

How do you succeed at roll-back during a controlled restart lol ?
  • Not happy with the changes. Hitting Q over and over and over for hours on end to gain some animal taming doesn't make for very immersive game play. The grind was tolerable before, it felt slow but like I was able to make progress. Now it's just awful.

Part of the point of a game like this *is* the grind...it's supposed to take time. I think the problem right now is that the interim levels don't feel super impactful for some skills so the grind feels longer. Especially for taming.

ya right now leveling is WAY too fast. i'm almost GM in a trade after less than a week of play :/
  • Massive grind in a pvp game is so pointless @evianwater. This isnt 1999, people want to get in game and have fun and pvp not spend 100s of hours of monotonous uninspired PVE to get to the real game. Look at life is feudal mmo to see how their sandbox grind is working out for them, just google steamcharts to see the nosediving playerbase post launch.

you have wrong idea then.... this is a game that has pvp. This is not a PVP game. There is a big difference.

okay fine, maybe its not a straight pvp game, call it a pve/pvp hybrid, but hardcore grinding games are DEAD in todays market. Sandboxes are about social interaction and emergent gameplay not character advancement.

Like it or not - grinding is part of this game. The fact that you want to be GM within a month doesn't make sense to me unless you're playing hours upon hours every day. Its supposed to be a sense of accomplishment. There is no "end game" there's no rush to get there. The journey has to be part of the fun here or there's a severe lack of content.

The great news is you can create your own server then. I imagine you will be able to toggle skill rate there. :)

Levelijg must be slow and fun. The second part needs work, but once they have the map and creatures done, adding loot and encounters should not be hard.
  • You cannot make skill gain this slow, while skills are still being moved around and figured out. Tinkering with your build is no longer really feasible.

What is fun about this? Pressing the same button over and over? Is this immersion? What is even happening here?

Can we have a patch that's not absolutely terrible for once?
This patch fixes almost nothing, and just makes the grind worse and worse with less reward now.

The game is getting wiped again soon, and you want people to just grind their characters non stop and then wipe when the toon is finally fucking done?

You know, like 5 patch ago or so, the game wasn't in the most stable state, but at least it was fun. Every single patch since then, bar none, has been straying further and further from all the elements that made the game fun, and is pulling against the grain and against the player base in some fucking bizarre direction in a concerted effort to squash anything remotely fun about the game.
  • @Citadel Team Administrator, Please, can the skill gain be shown as such in the color bright green? I think it's better than white. That was already the case with Ultima Online. Please please please please ;)

One of the main points in this wipe and round of testing was to get a feel of how quickly people could level and you cannot do that with inflated skill gains. If you don't like testing, don't play a beta game. Everything you do is going to get wiped again. Some people have been here and had their fully fleshed out characters wiped 4 or 5 times and they are not complaining.

I admit that it makes it hard to put in time to the game right now with skill gain slower but there are still people going at it, testing, getting GM and providing the data the devs need.
So if it bothers you that much ,this round of testing probably isn't for you since it sounds like you are more into the playing rather than the testing. Playing starts after the final wipe which is months away.
